Who is Ron Knight ?
Ron Knight is a guy with a varied background (chemistry, engineering and mathematics), someone who likes to learn, believes something really good can be made even better, someone that asks a lot of questions AND actually listens to the answers.
When people ask why I didn't write a blog about my businesses and experiences, my response was, "What is a Blog?"
Did you ever hear of a "personal homepage"? You may think you haven't but if you happen to be reading this, you have. The first blog was Links.net and was created by Justin Hall. He called referred to his writings as his "personal homepage" and this was in 1994.
The term "weblog" was created by Jorn Barger in 1997 and was shortened by Peter Merholz (in April or May 1999) as we blog. To speed things up the "we" was dropped and we were left with BLOG.
Now that you know more than you probably wanted to know, I will tell you why I am "Blogging". Part of my reason is to tell you about my company, Corrosion Protection & Solutions (dba Lektrotech) and its unique products but for the most part I am going to try to make people (you) think!
I am going to write about solutions to specific problems and I am going to make personal comments and ask questions. You may think some of the questions are silly or irrelevant. You certainly don't have to agree with me but if I ask the questions correctly, you will have to THINK about an answer.
There have been several studies done regarding the number of questions ask per day by different age groups. A British study said that a 4 year old girl asks her "mum" about 390 questions per day. In general ages 2 to 10 years old ask about 288 per day, ages 11 to 15 140 and adults a whopping 20.
Question of the day: WHY do we stop asking questions? Do adults (whatever that is) know everything?
